Google has made a page rank update, the changes are starting to show in Last Week of October 2009. It has been a long wait for this update, the last update was in 23rd of June. Until now only a few site have been affected by the PR update. Tomorrow we will see clearly what are the effects of this October PR update.
Although page rank doesn’t determine your position in results, it shows your site social status and power. A site with PR 7 has more back links and more weight, when this site publishes an article it will get quickly on the first page of Google Search, even if it doesn’t have backlinks.
UPDATE on 20th ct 2009:
Google just released the Google Wave and then they are also busy in Google Caffeine. Webmaster team is also busy in the upgrading the Webmaster Tool. But this time lot many websites confirming the news that Google has started the process and they will be done by the update by end of October 2009

Pages indexing is heavy right now. I just noticed a lot o bot visits in last 2 days. Probably PR update is on the way.

Who cares about google pagerank? Google itself removed the page rank information in the webmaster tools section, as well mentioned in their blog several times that people shouldnt rely that much anymore on the PR. Since the last update, Google anyways changed it’s algorithm, so SERPs will surely rely on other things than plain PR.

I think that the new Caffeine infrastructure seems to be affected more by PR than previous Google programming. I’m seeing a huge swing in the lesser key phrases and at the same time getting reports of a PR update.

oooh…yeaahhh… my site http://www.mallukitchen.com was launched on may 2009 and had a PR0.. it has now changed to 2. i noticed the change today..

Yes, Google Pr update is running and I also got update for my blog php-tuts.blogspot.com from 0 – 1. Also lots of other sites got good rankings.
